August Virginia Creeper in the Rain 3 color by Monika Frys-Żurek
A leaf that still remembers summer, yet already reaches for the colors of autumn.
A green center, red-gold edges — and the silence after rain.
A calm you can feel with your eyes.

In this frame, what mattered most to me was the fragility of the moment — the damp surface of a leaf, beaded with August rain, and that hesitation of color: from deep green to red-golden edges. Nature, as always, paints boldly yet with sensitivity — the transitions of hues are fluid, as if no one were quite ready to end summer just yet.
When photographing, I try not to impose anything. I listen to the leaves, I look for the light that will tell their story.
In this work, color speaks for itself — of passing, but without sorrow. Of acceptance of change that arrives quietly, softly, with the rain.
It is Virginia creeper — a symbol of fidelity, devotion, and endurance despite time. Its presence brings peace. And I try to preserve that peace within the frame.
