August Virginia Creeper in the Rain 1 color by Monika Frys-Żurek

The green of late summer meets the breath of autumn.
Raindrops, warm light, the first reds.
A moment of passing, captured with tenderness and calm.

A photograph created in the quiet of a late summer day, just after the rain. The creeper captured in this frame carries traces of August light — still green, yet with edges dusted in fire. Yellows and reds appear timidly, like a gentle herald of change. I love this transitional moment — when the green does not yet convey the full expanse of autumn, but already feels its breath.

The raindrops are not mere decoration — they are traces of moments that have passed. They cling to the leaf quietly, as if wishing to stay with it as long as possible. The close-up reveals structure, texture, and organic detail. I photograph with attentiveness — it is my tool for observation and my way of drawing closer to nature. Sometimes I feel the camera becomes an extension of my own breath.

For centuries, Virginia creeper has carried the symbolism of fidelity, perseverance, and life entwined with others. In this work, I also try to weave together the fleeting and the enduring.
