A Virginia creeper leaf, wrapped in August rain.
A symbol of endurance, tenderness, and fidelity — recorded in shadow, light, and texture.

This photograph is part of a series created in a space of quiet and focus — at a moment when the August rain softens the sharpness of the day, and the light becomes as gentle as a breath. In the frame is a Virginia creeper leaf — a plant whose symbolism carries a story of endurance, fidelity, and persistent intertwining with life.
I wanted this photograph to convey more than just form. The frame — though simple — is full of subtle tensions and meanings: raindrops hover delicately on the leaf’s surface, as if waiting to be noticed. I love these moments when nature speaks loudest precisely when it is almost completely silent.
I used a monochromatic palette to emphasize texture, detail, and the natural lines and veins of the leaf. In black and white, light and shadow guide the narrative, and the photograph begins to resemble a drawing — graphic, almost meditative.
By capturing these fleeting moments in the frame, I try to convey the calm I find in nature myself. It is the same calm I wish to share with you — through the image.
